Aidil Yunus – Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO)
Hailing from a small village in Batu Pahat, Johor, Aidil Yunus is the son of small time traders. Both his parents dabbled in many small businesses; from gathering fresh water fish to selling fruits at the highway stop. The entrepreneurship spirit was cultivated into this first born since he was young. Aidil's first business venture was at the age of 11.
This marketing graduate is the Founder of Akar Insan Sdn Bhd. Aidil founded Akar Insan after recognizing the absence of a solutions provider that is able to customize solutions based on each client's specific needs, and a business solutions provider that understands the business objectives of its clients.
His prior experience includes retail business ventures. Aidil has also served in three MNCs thus far.
Just like Starbucks and Google, both favourite brands of Aidil, he sees Akar Insan as a consulting firm that is well known for its unique offerings and business philosophies. The dream is for Akar Insan to win "The Most Innovative Company Award", of which only one home grown Malaysian company has come close to winning.
Most clients of Akar Insan regard his ideas as simply out of this world, yet effective. Akar Insan is the proof of it. In just less than two years, Aidil has turned a business venture which started out with a mere RM420 into millions of Ringgit in revenue.
Richard Ong – Co-Founder and Group Chief Finance and Operating Officer (GCFOO)
This former Investment Banker shared the journey of Akar Insan Sdn Bhd when Aidil decided to turn his dreams into reality. In the early stages of inception, Richard provided guidance to ensure that the company took flight without a glitch. Born in Penang and raised as a strategic thinker, he is the expert of operations, and the brain behind the money management. His parents insisted that he cultivated a thinking attitude. Their belief that such attitude will take him places proved to be a wise decision indeed.
A Chartered Accountant, Richard was with a Merchant Bank, a subsidiary of one of Malaysia's largest banking group and was instrumental in its' transformation into an Investment Bank. His last position prior to co-founding Akar Insan was with a Big-4 consulting firm as an Associate Director of Corporate Finance.
